The NECGB are currently collecting information to enable them to publish their own Calendar for 2014. Treena Maun has been given the task of pulling everything together for publication and has asked that we help organise an "Online Photo Competition" to cover photographs which represent the 12 months of the year.
The Competition is open to all Elkoholic's, the only proviso being that the photographs submitted must be of dogs either bred in the UK or currently residing in the UK. Photographs should be taken of the dogs enjoying themselves; show stance photos are definitely not required. Judging is being undertaken by someone with no connection with the Breed who will judge the photographs purely on merit, composition and quality.
There are no entry Fee's or Prizes for the winners, however, what is a prize compared to having the honour of your name, your dogs name and acknowledgement of the photographer being published on the Calendar. Photographs submitted must have been taken by the entrant or have the express permission of the photographer to use them. All photographs must be free of copyright with the NECGB having the right to publish in any form or through any media they choose.
Entries are required for the following;
January - "In the snow"
February - "Be my Valentine"
March - "Easter"
April - "Rainy Days"
May - "Spring Flowers"
June - "By the Seaside"
July - "In the Wilderness"
August - "Summer Holidays"
September - "Falling Leaves"
October - ""Families", with either other Elkhounds or their human friends
November - "Windy Days"
December - "Christmas"
All photographs entered will be loaded into an Album for each of the twelve months and can be viewed on the NECGB Competition Page.
The winning photographs from each month will be judged and the best overall photo will be used as the cover photo for the calendar.
Closing date for entries is 31st August so you have plenty of time to get the Camera out and take some good pictures.
All entries to be submitted as an attachment to an e-mail sent to cowter@btinternet.com along with your name, address, dog's name, age and photographer name.
